Thanks for checking this out and have fun.

I am using this entry by Sofia as a sort of unofficial mini manifesto, cause I believe it inhabits many truths:

Flirting with scenes only leads to the whole forest getting burned down

[beatnik_child]

Music is not solely about the scene. Many people are motivated to go to shows, interact with band members, flirt with strange musicians, but forget that the reason for being is the music. With out music there would be no scenes to form. Some times I wonder about scenes, I am not trying to be blinkered and say that all scenes are malevolent, but to a stretch, when music is relinquished to procure a guise, well it sure makes one stop and reflect. How many people give up personal talents and unique traits in exchange for some ‘in’ threads that make them a carbon copy of another carbon copy? Don’t you see how it can be such a deadly dominos effect? Don’t be content to sit on the sidelines and get lost in the throngs of groupies. If some one is going to be part of any ‘scene’ stand out and speak up. Live the music; don’t let the music pass you by. The reason is lost if you do it that way. Don’t be a victim of a scene; don’t let a scene stifle your soul. Music was meant to break down barriers and like many arts, music gives the only true sense of any freedom. Don’t make the beautiful notes of art a requiem.
